Conceptualizing a Caring and Intelligent Community: Arts and Sciences at Thirty
During the fall of 2016, President Ron Crutcher charged the Deans of each School at the University of Richmond to engage in a process of planning for its future. Conceptualizing Arts and Sciences at Thirty or Concept 30 is an opportunity for the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Richmond to endeavor its first planning exercise, leading us into our thirtieth year, in 2021. Concept 30 will set goals for resource allocation during the next decade and envision A&S as one among the distinctive, premier liberal arts Colleges of Arts and Sciences in the United States.
To ensure broad participation and shared responsibility for our future, we will rely heavily upon existing administrative governance structures—the Dean’s Office staff and Associate Deans, the Dean’s Advisory Council, Academic Council, and faculty meetings. We will also hold an A&S retreat on May 8, 2017, 10:30am – 1pm.
Join colleagues at monthly Cellar Chats as we continue to discuss Concept 30 and its relationship to the UR Strategic Plan. These will be held on a different day each month in order to allow you greater opportunity to participate.
