Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Communication Studies

The Department of Rhetoric and Communication Studies at the University of Richmond invites applications for an assistant professor, tenure track appointment to begin in fall 2010.  We seek a candidate who specializes in Communication and Culture as they intersect with one or more areas including identity and the body, globalization, consumerism and citizenship, conflict and negotiation, and collective memory.  Successful candidates must be committed to teaching excellence at all undergraduate levels and must be prepared to teach intro through advanced courses in communication and culture.  We also seek an individual with a strong research program that potentially might involve undergraduate majors.

Applicants will be asked to supply electronically a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement (including teaching philosophy and teaching experience), a statement of future research agenda, and a writing sample.
