E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Chair in the Liberal Arts

The University of Richmond invites nominations and applications for E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Chair in the Liberal Arts, a tenured position at the associate or full level. We seek candidates who will contribute both to the further development of a newly founded undergraduate program in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law (PPEL) and to the regular curriculum in Political Science.  The ideal candidate will be an outstanding teacher with a distinguished scholarly record in the area of political theory (area of specialization is open). Teaching responsibilities will be divided between required courses and advanced electives within the PPEL program and courses in the political science department, to which the candidate will be jointly appointed.  

Nominations and applications will be considered beginning October 1, 2009 and until the position is filled.  Nominations and preliminary inquiries should be directed to Dr. Vincent Wang in Political Science or Dr. David Lefkowitz in PPEL.  Dr. Wang will also be at the 2009 APSA meeting in Toronto and available to discuss the position.
