A&S Honors Convocation + Student Symposium 2020

COVID-19 UPDATE: In response to the now clear guidance from the Centers for Disease Control recommending any gathering consisting of 50 people or more be cancelled or postponed for the next eight weeks, the School of Arts & Sciences is quickly researching the possibility of hosting a virtual A&S Honors Convocation and Student Symposium.

We are working to identify an experience that will showcase our student’s important work and continue the celebratory tradition. We will be in touch shortly as more information about next steps become available.

Studnets + mentors. Dorms + roommates. Majors + minors. Arts + Sciences.

If you look around campus, you can see there are so many things that go better together because it’s through these combinations that you find the absolute best results. “Better Together” is the theme for this year’s Student Symposium and Honors Convocation because A&S knows that it is when we work together, go across disciplines, and support one another that we can really shine.

In the spirit of Better Together, we encourage all our students, faculty and staff to attend the Honors Convocation and Student Symposium so we can spend the day celebrating our students and all they have accomplished this year.

“These events showcase what is possible in A&S,” said Dean Patrice Rankine. “It’s a wonderful day of celebration and of affirmation of what it means to be part of the Arts & Sciences community, why research and inquiry matter, and how stimulating the world of ideas – research itself – can be.”

More information on virtual experience to follow.
